Muizenberg’s Jungle Theatre Company comes to Oude Libertas with their longest running play The Whale Show.
A story of two characters that are on a quest to become like whales, The Whale Show is based on Heathcote Williams’ ‘Whale Nation’. The wondering whale watchers swirl the audience into a fantastic high-energy adventure juggling to catch food, bubbling under-water music, receiving e-whales from a giant puppet called Wanda. They discover that the ocean is under threat and get everybody involved in taking care of the sea and saving our whales. Don’t miss this amazing whale tale for families with children age 6 and over.
The Whale Show is one of many environmentally themed plays written and produced by Jungle Theatre Company, which uses original children’s and family theatre as a vehicle for environmental social and cultural education. After a three year hiatus The Whale Show returned to the stage last year with a successful run at Kalk Bay Theatre and Out The Box festival, thanks to the support of L & S Chiappini Charitable Trust and Rolf-Stephan Nussbaum Foundation
