Vincent Meyburgh
Vincent carries out the artistic vision of JTC by conceptualizing projects, training actors, developing scripts, stage managing, directing and performing. Vincent graduated from UCT Drama Department in 1993 and was a founder member of Jungle Performance, a part time theatre group, in 1995. When JTC became an NPO in 2004 Vincent’s dream of being the artistic director of a full time theatre company became a reality. His passion for original family theatre and the environment makes him a driving force in the children and young people’s theatre scene.
Managing Director
Lorraine Tanner
Lorraine is responsible for the behind the scenes organizational management and development as well those other tasks like fundraising that keep Jungle Theatre Company on track. She holds a BA (Hons) Journalism from the University of Central Lancashire and completed a Certificate in Environmental Education through Rhodes University in 2009. She has a background in working with communities at a grassroots level and is enthusiastic about each and every person doing their bit for the environment, no matter how small it may seem. The pinnacle of Lorraine’s theatrical career was the role of Grendel in her primary school’s production of ‘Beowulf’.
Project Coordinator
Miranda Tait
Miranda joined Jungle Theatre Company in August 2010 as Jungle’s part-time Project Coordinator. She graduated from “De Hogeschool van Amsterdam” in 1996 with a Teacher’s degree in English (BA). She then moved to South Africa and has since worked in an administrative capacity for the Women’s Network on Violence against Women; WESSA and several corporate Cape Town based companies. With her strong organizational and accounting skills Miranda ensures a smooth running of the administrative side of JTC projects; HR and accounts. Miranda lives in Muizenberg with her two young children Sophie and Misha and loves to visit the theatre as a family.
